Posting Guidelines
At FirmsReviews, we promote authentic, relevant and truthful reviews. These guidelines explain what content is allowed, restricted or removed, including misuse of moderation tools to remove legitimate feedback.
Businesses: Please review our policies on Fake Reviews and Content Removal Requests before reporting a review.
1. Our Standards
We appreciate reviews that clearly and honestly inform consumers about a business, product or service.
- Share your honest experience with the business or service
- Provide relevant details about what occurred
- Relevant information includes when you bought a product or used a service
- Only add photos or videos if they truly enhance your experience
- Focus on events you personally experienced
- Stay away from rumors, guesses, or anything that is not backed by proof
- Keep your review to the company and their product or service!
- Be clear so other users can easily benefit from your experience
- Both positive and negative experiences are welcome when they are genuine
2. Prohibited Content
Your content should not:
- Threaten, harass, bully or attack others
- Reveals an individual's private or sensitive information
- Unnecessary phone numbers, email addresses, physical addresses or banking information were included
- Hate, discriminatory or abusive content
- Excessive profanity or language that is offensive
- Is untrue, made up, deceptive or misleading
- Promote or advertise for other competitors
- Is submitted by someone with an undisclosed conflict of interest
- Attempts to manipulate a business's rating or reputation
- Uses multiple accounts to influence reviews or ratings
- Continuously updates reviews to distort its ranking or visibility
- Posts repetitive comments, questions, or answers that do not add anything useful
- Infringes on any laws or rights of a third party
3. One Review Per Transaction
Users may submit one review for each genuine transaction, purchase, booking or service experience with a business. If you use the same business again for a separate transaction or service, you may submit another review based on that new experience. Multiple reviews for the same transaction could be considered duplicate content and will be removed or restricted.
4. Verification
We also may investigate to verify that a reviewer is a real user of the product, service or place of business that is on trial. Occasionally, we may require more information from reviewers to support their claim of experience. This information may relate to a purchase, reservation, order, transaction or service. Just provide the information that is reasonably necessary to verify. Don't give passwords, payment card information, government IDs or other sensitive information that isn't needed. If we cannot reasonably verify a review when verification is required, we may restrict or remove the review. Verification does not mean that we agrees with the review or the opinions expressed in it.
5. Reporting Content
A review or any other content that is in violation of these guidelines can be reported to us via the reporting options on site. Reports should explain the infraction in a clear and factual manner. Where possible, provide relevant evidence or information to support your report.
A business disputing a review does not mean the review should be taken down in our eyes. Negative but authentic feedback is allowed as long as it meets these criteria. We may take action where reporting tools are repeatedly or improperly used to suppress genuine consumer feedback.
6. Fake Positive Reviews
Our website does not allow fake or manipulated positive reviews intended to improve a business's rating, reputation, ranking or visibility.
Examples include:
- A business submitting reviews about itself
- Employees, owners, representatives or related parties submitting undisclosed reviews
- Paying people to leave positive reviews without a genuine experience
- Asking people who have not used a business to submit reviews
- Creating multiple accounts to increase ratings
- Organising or coordinating artificial positive reviews
- Using bots or automated systems to generate reviews
If we detect fake positive review or review manipulation, we may remove the reviewed content and take additional appropriate action. This may involve account restrictions, limitations on future submissions, score adjustments or feature access restrictions.
7. Fake Negative Reviews
A bad review is not fake just because a business disagrees with it or feels it is unfair. A negative review may be investigated if reliable evidence indicates that it is not a true consumer experience.
Examples may include:
- Reviewing a business without using its products or services
- A competitor submitting a review to harm another business
- Coordinated activity intended to damage a business's reputation
- Multiple accounts being used to create artificial negative feedback
- Fabricating an experience or deliberately providing misleading information
- Submitting reviews primarily to manipulate a business's rating
Businesses reporting suspected fake reviews should provide relevant evidence wherever possible. If a business cannot find a reviewer's username, name, email address or transaction details in its records, it does not necessarily mean that the review is fake. We may ask the reviewer for further details in some cases.
8. Review Incentives
Businesses may offer incentives for reviews only where permitted by applicable law and these guidelines. An incentive must not depend on receiving a positive rating or favourable review.
Where incentives are offered:
- Consumers should be able to provide positive or negative, or even neutral, feedback
- The reward should be granted no matter what the rating of the review was or what its tone of voice was
- Businesses must not request specific ratings, wording, or opinions
- Required disclosures about incentives should be made clearly
- Businesses must not withdraw an incentive because a consumer leaves negative feedback
- Incentives must not be used to artificially increase a business's rating
Our website may remove or restrict incentivised reviews where the arrangement compromises the authenticity or independence of the feedback.
9. Global Use
We are a worldwide platform available to consumers and businesses across different countries and jurisdictions. These guidelines apply to content submitted to our website globally. They will be applied subject to the applicable laws and regulations of the relevant country or jurisdiction.
Where mandatory local laws provide users with rights or protections that cannot legally be excluded or restricted, those rights will continue to apply. These guidelines should never be construed as superseding mandatory consumer protection regulations or any other legal rights to which a party may be entitled under the laws of its jurisdiction.
10. Updates
We may update these Posting Guidelines from time to time to reflect changes to our platform, Services, moderation practices, legal requirements or operational procedures. Where permitted by applicable law, updated guidelines will take effect when published on FirmReviews. We encourage users and businesses to review these guidelines periodically.
